Who we are.

Fairy Ring Herbs is a collaborative of medicinal herb growers in the San Francisco Bay Area.  We lovingly cultivate our herbs without chemical fertilizers or pesticides.  We are all herbalists, graduates of The Ohlone Center for Herbal Studies in Berkeley, California.  We use our herbs for our own practices, our friends and families, and ourselves.  What is extra we offer to the greater community of herbalists, students, or any others who are interested.  We understand the importance of localizing our communities, using energy and resources efficiently, and in all ways having a low and humble impact on our environment.  In this spirit we created our network of growers to serve those around us and encourage more of us to grow our own herbs and share the abundance with each other.  

Our plants.

What we deliver to our supporters is our plant material, fresh or dried.  In either case it is delivered as whole as possible, as minimally processed as possible.  For the most part, we do not separate leaf or flower from the stem.  To see our list of offerings, click here.

Our prices.

Countless hours, sweat, dollars, and love has gone into the cultivating of our herbs.  Seeding, planting, amending, composting, studying, protecting, harvesting, drying, transporting...the list of tasks goes on.  In the process of setting up our gardens and this collaborative, we thought long and hard about pricing.  We compared prices of commonly patronized companies.  What we came up with for our prices is higher, in most cases, than most other herbs available in commerce.  However, we feel that our prices reflect the real costs of the product that we produce.  While other companies use questionable growing practices, source their herbs from far off countriess, or simply are grown hours away from the Bay, necessitating costly, polluting journeys to acquire, we are the only growers of medicinal herbs for purchase right in the Bay Area.  In exchange for providing our services, we request a donation towards the continuation and expansion of our project.
